Testimonials
"I really love Italy.  It is probaby because I was born in a small town near Trieste, Italy to an Italian mother and American father. When I was four years old, we left behind many family members to come to America.  It was heartbreaking for my mother because she knew she was leaving Italy for a new land that was foreign to her and did not know when she would see her family again."
"As a young child, you don't really care where you live as long as you are in a happy family life, which we had.  It wasn't until I was 14 years old that I was able to return to Italy and see our family.  At that moment, I realized we lived in two different worlds.  The family oriented Italian speaking culture and simplicity of  Italian life  was so diverse than the American life I had grown accustomed to.  Arriving in Italy made a great impression on me as a young person who had led a sheltered life. I knew I would someday return, however, I never dreamed it would be to establish Italy as my exclusive subject to paint.  And I love to paint. When I am in my studio and feeling the happiness of seeing a painting almost come to life, it reminds me of one of Mother Teresa's quotes, 'Profound joy of the heart that indicates the path of life.'  This profound joy is what I feel when I am able to express myself fully with my brushes and I am so greatful to God for his gift to me in having the desire and ability to paint."
There are more to Rita Zaudke's Italian paintings that meet the eye. The study of mind and emotion in relation to beauty  reaches beyond cliff-side panoramas, cascades of red bouganvillea flowers or white sandy beaches under the Mediterranean sun. It includes her family's history, with deep sentimental attachments tied to geography and art studies.

Rita Zaudke's education includes a masters degree from Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania as well as independent studies.  Her paintings of Italy from the 'Fine Art of Italy ' collection are found in private and public  collections all over the world.  She has taught workshops, juried art shows,  and is a member of Wichita Women's Artists and Kansas Academy of Oil Painters.  She invites you to browse through her website and welcomes you to enjoy the scenery and  contact her with any question you may have.

What They're Saying.......

"From the first moment that I saw one of Ms. Zaudke's paintings, I knew she was an exceptional artist.  Since then, after seeing many more of her paintings, I believe she is one of the premier artist in the midwest, specializing in acrylic and watercolor landscapes and buildings; particularly from the country of Italy.  She uses color in a way that makes every picture engaging, and her paintings are so realistic that one feels that they have been transported to the site of these buildings and landscapes.  I can sincerely say she is one of my favorite artists. "My friend Kitty was thrilled, surprised, speechless,
andawe struck.  She couldn't believe how beautiful and realistic the paintings are. She just stared at them for the lonest time.  They brought back so many happy memories of her trip.  I think that she was surprised that I got them from someone here in the states that could capture  the true essense of Italy.  You made her evening and mine.  Thanks again Rita.  You made a birthday celebration very special with your gift of paintings and thanks for sharing it with the world. "Those of us who love everything Italian, will delight in painter, Rita Zaudke, and her beautiful renditions of her native Italy. Each time I gaze at them, I smell the subtle aroma of spaghetti sauce simmering on the stove, I can see a gondolier pushing a romantic couple along, as someone strums a mandolin in the distance. The exquisite detail in Rita's paintings speaks to us in a universal language. It always makes me want to go back to Italy one more time."
